Positive Impact
We invite you to join us at Ubuntu Camp as we seek to make a positive and sustainable impact through responsible tourism.
Asilia Approach
Our goal is to be a role model in sustainable tourism as we seek to create lasting positive impacts on both the natural habitats and the lives of the people in the areas in which we have a presence.
At the heart of our organization is a sincere and strongly developed sustainability agenda as we have no doubt that conservation and community development is crucial for our long-term success.
Without compromising on quality or experience, our lodges and camps answer to the highest demands on eco-tourism.
We strongly believe and encourage the positive force that the combination of our guests, our travel industry partners and our own operations can make to the areas we operate in. Our approach to how we operate can be summarized as one of ‘Collaborative Conservation’.

Positive impact at Ubuntu Camp
Ubuntu Camp aspires to leave behind nothing but footprints. The tented camp has no permanent structures and is broken down and moved three times a year leaving the precious site as we found it with the exception of a couple of footpaths which are quickly reclaimed by the resilient African bush.
Ubuntu Camp is fully supported by solar energy. Any emissions from our back-up fossil fuel consumption is offset through a local community forestation program.
We actively support the local community and annually donate funds to the local Osinoni School via the
Kamitei Foundation
. In 2012 this money was used to buy books and football kit.
We are actively supporting the
Serengeti Wild Dog Conservation Project
.
We Support...
CONSERVATION, COMMUNITY, ECO-TOURISM, COLLABORATION
Together with its sister Asilia camps, Ubuntu Camp contributes to the conservation of the invaluable Serengeti ecosystem. Supporting responsible tourism inside the park and working on tangible development projects with the communities around the park, Asilia is playing an important role in the conservation of the most famous wildlife park in the world.
